Today, we went to our first location which is 'The Bounty' pub. This is where we filmed his acoustic guitars. We went earlier than everyone else so we could set up so we could replicate the lighting like we had done in the recce as we thought that it worked with the feeling that we had wanted to create. Around lunch time, Gianluca and Juliet arrived with the appropriate clothing and we started filming. We had filmed extra footage that we wanted to use for the narrative which is when they both walk out and in and see each other then pause and walk past each other then we see him leave. This took constant filming of the feet, eyes, face etc.. which was very hard although, the actors were very compliant with what we had asked from them. The bounty pub were very helpful and they allowed us to play the song (REPEATEDLY) for us to get the shots we needed for the actual shoot. This allowed us to match the singing and struming to the music so we could edit that perfectly on the pre-production stages. Overall, it was a good day and I am happy that it all wen as smoothly as it did.
The second day of shooting we all got there at around 11:30am and walked to the corn field at the right time. This is when the sun was at its highest point and so there was more sunlight so when filming there was already natural warm colours. It was the first time the artist and actress had met so it was awkward at first but after a few takes, the 2 got along and actually had a bit of spark which helped the romantic part to our music video. They were both very patient, professional and co-operative which was good as we could obtain the things we needed while building a good relationship with them. They worked well together and with us which in turn made what could have been a stressful shoot day due to weather or location going wrong into a relaxed environment.
To conclude both days went well for me and Sapir when shooting our music video, the atmosphere was very relaxed as we knew what we wanted to achieve in the time we had and both actors cooperated well.
